Book Recomendations
I have some book recommendations that I would like to make;
The first two are books recommended by Zenith, but I would still to back him up by stating that the following are incredibly good and thrilling books, both filled with humour and have great plots:
1) Monster
2) The Trials of Apollo series
Now, these are some of my personal book recommendations:
3) Magnus Chase (A thrilling book series based around The Gods of Asgard and Magnus and his friends connection to them and their misfortunes)
4) A series of Unfortunate events ( A long but exciting, hilarious and tragic series about the 3 Baudelaire orphans who hit misfortune and every step in their almighty adventure. There are currently 13 books available, so it is long. Note: If you are going to consider this series, DON'T watch the Netflix series. Though it only goes up to the 9th book, it still will spoil most of the story.)

Monsters Unleashed Onto the City!
Following the numerous police chases and attacks, Several “Monsters” have been spotted rampaging along the San Francisco Port yesterday evening. Eye witnesses of the event are currently unable to give us a description of the beasts aside from “Monsters”, though we have a description soon enough, following the interview of the Surveillance guard monitoring the area. “ They were BEASTS,” says the security guard, who had not noticed the attack until 2 minutes in, “ They were massive, thunderous, almost humanoid creature. One of them almost took down a cruiser for heaven's sake!” All the man can recall from the event is the damage that the creatures did, and also a key factor, which is the fact that there were 5 of them. Worse yet, according to what has so-far been seen of the surveillance footage, there seemed to be a little girl in the midst of all the action. From the few frames that she is on screen, we can predict that this girl in question, might actually be the 14 year old child we have been looking for, Margo De-aze. Margo is a transgender child, who has been missing from their home for over a fortnight. Despite this not being confirmed yet, Margos parents are still looking for her, and with this new lead, they might be able to find her. Back to the topic of the rampage, the “Monsters” destroyed what is equal to $13 million in repairs. The military have put a price on their head, and anyone who can give them a lead leading the beasts capture, will be rewarded with a cheque for $5,000. This is the biggest reward the military has put out, and “There’s a reason for it.” says Police chief Marcus Loeber. “We’re going to put a price on anything that is endangering our people and our city”. Will these beasts of the underworld be captured, or will we have to forever live in fear of them? You can follow the full story at www.newsstuff.com/big-rampaging-monsters-ahhhh. Otherwise, that’s it for now. News Stuff, signing out.

A Boy gone missing?!
A boy around 13-14 year old has gone missing.
He was last seen at a city that has been destroyed.
He said he was with other survivor.
He was taken by an alien like creature.
This alien like creature has been taking other people outside of earth and making them disappear forever.
These alien like creatures are really dangerous. This creature is manly in the shadows and they have a U.F.O as well.
This U.F.O looks like a giant blank triangle. It has been flying around at night more often from one week ago.
The boy Max has disappeared and we need you guys to find him.
Max could only hear this U.F.O and the others couldn’t. We still don’t know if he is alive or not.

Recommended Books
1. The Martian- Andy Wier
A humorous and entrancing book about determination, spirit, and best of all: astroscience.
2. Thrawn-Timothy Zahn
NOT just another Star Wars fan book. This tale encompasses certain themes like indomitable spirit, the meaning of life and racism, without you even noticing it! (most of the time).
3. Bone Music:The Legend of Ghengis Khan
The morals are little more hidden, but they include loyalty, sexism and determination. Overall, it is a hugely entertaining exaggerated account of actual events.

Red As The Dawn
Finally the exclusive Silver royal family hierarchy has introduced its newest member to their
family tree. Seventeen year old Mareena Titanos is the unrecalled daughter of the
notorious General Ethan Titanos of the Iron Legion, and his wife Lady Nora. She appeared so unexpectedly it was like she fell out of the sky, but she did, literally. Mareena appeared at
the Queenstrial where she fell from the servant’s balcony. Word was that she was hired that
morning to become a housekeeper to Queen Elara. Mareena leaned over the edge to get a
closer view of now future queen Evangeline Titanos’s performance where she fell into the
infamous lightning wall. Now here comes the plot twist. Anyone who even touches the wall
with even a mere cell of their skin will instantly reach the malicious clutches of death but,
Mareena didn’t. As the daughter of a Titanos she would certainly possess magnetron
powers but as the whole arena gasps “impossible”, the Silver powers as we know it has
gone into oblivion. Mareena enhanced the powers of lightning wall, absorbing them. The
expression of the Queen’s face was priceless but that was not what anyone was looking at.
Mareena possessed something that has never been seen before. There is no doubt is
anyone's mind that she is exceedingly powerful. Plus, with her arranged marriage to
Prince Maven, the second in line to the throne, her possibilities are endless. But everyone prays that Mareena with her vivid red hair better not rise as red as the dawn. The Scarlet
Guard (a Red terrorist organisation) has threatened to obliterate the invisible shield of false
security that the Silvers always lived under and they have already proved themselves more
dangerous and powerful than any Silver could possibly have imagined. And I can assure
you, the royal family will do anything in their power to inhibit Mareena Titanos from ever finding out, let alone joining, the elusive Scarlet Guard.

Reading choice board task - Week 2 and 3 - Zoe and Anusha
This our puppet show for PL. We hope you like it!
Sorry, the actual puppeting ended up being done my me and my brother. Anusha was sick on the weekend, so we couldn't get together to finish it. However she still helped with the planning, so it was both of our work. -Zoe
This is an alternative cover for the book 'The Siege of Rome'. It is a very interesting historical fiction set in the Syrian desert during the Palmyran uprisings. Certainly a very original style of writing, and recommended if you want something unusual to read.
I also recommend you research the time period before you start reading the book. The history is, for one thing, very interesting, but also necessary for some comprehension purposes.

Zifan's Reading Review of Pippi Longstocking
Reading Review
Pippi Longstocking
‘Pippi Longstocking’ is my favorite book because it is funny, inspires courage and it’s energising to read. The main characters are Pippi, Tommy and Anika who are best friends in the book. They do many fun and adventurous things together such as picnicking, shopping and traveling.
I learnt that Pippi is a great friend, I would love to be one of her friends. She takes care of herself and others very well. For example, one time Anika doesn’t know how to get on a horse, so Pippi lifts her up there. Pippi kind-hearted, funny and most of all, very strong. She is the strongest girl in the world and in fact, she is probably the strongest person in the world. She can lift a horse easily, sit calmly on a furious, jumping bull and lift policemen effortlessly.
Pippi has a dad but her mum passed away when she was just a baby. And her dad is king of an island somewhere in the ocean, so Pippi lives alone in her house.
One day her father asks her to go to his island with him, on Hoppetossa, their ship. Tommy and Anika cry so sadly that I nearly cried as well when I was reading it. But Pippi has a kind heart, so she can’t bear to see Tommy and Anika crying for her. So she stays, and the three friends are together again.
Pippi likes to say stuff that is totally weird and funky, that makes most people think she is lying, but Tommy and Anika never think she is lying, and they like to hear her stories. They are true friends of Pippi.
Pippi has great self-control and self-discipline. For example, once she bought 36 kilos of candy and didn’t even eat one herself but gave them away to children. I feel like Pippi gives me power and energy, she makes me laugh.
Pippi Longstocking is a marvelous book. I recommend that you read this book.

Sofia - Reading Choice Board - Week 2
Reading Goal and Reflection!
I am very happy with the way that my reading is going at home. I am reading
as much as possible in the time I have. In the past weeks I have tried to push
myself with reading new series such as Shadowhunters and Twilight. I don’t
like reading books where people die really gory deaths and your favourite
characters die. But I pushed myself to read books with deep messages in the
Teen and Senior Fiction sections of the library. There is also lot’s of unfinished
books around the house that I haven’t finished reading because I got bored of
them. I really should finish those so I can start on new books without them
lying around with bookmarks still in them. For the past years my mum has
been challenging me to read some more classics. I have just completed To Kill
A Mockingbird and I really enjoyed that although I do not enjoy reading books
such as Around the World in 80 Days since I did not understand most of the
language although i will try to read more of those books.
Goal
My reading goal is to challenge myself to read harder and more intense books
including classics. I also want to finish reading books that I started reading but
stopped in the middle because I did not enjoy them.
