I like the first one. You can’t control anything except how much effort you put in. This is totally true. If you never put any work in you will never get there, but if you try your hardest it will always pay off in the end. This quote applies to everything. Whether it is school work or just a hobby, if you don't put any effort in you wont succeed. You can't always control the result, but you can definitely control your own effort.
I like the third one, learn from others. This is my favourite because it is true you can learn by your self but if you think you do something wrong you can look around you and look at others to see how they did it.
Number 4 is my favourite. It's SO important to be grateful. Be grateful for everything and everyone in your life. Be grateful for the opportunities you get. Be grateful you get to live the privileged life you're living, because not everyone does. And always say thank you. In the words of Dwayne Johnson “Life is crazy and busy for all of us, but when we can fuel it with a lil' gratitude and humility – life becomes that much better.”
Gratitude is a desirable trait, but it is important to keep it in check. Too much gratitude can lead to total satisfaction, and with that, motives to work hard and improve disintegrate. It can make you feel that 'its good enough and couldn't be better'.
I personally think that number nine is the best, because everyone fails, and just because you fail does not mean that you are the worst, everyone learns from mistakes, expect failure and learn from it, do not hate it, because you won't learn if you don't fail.
I believe that the first one " You can't control anything, except for how much effort you put in" is the best and most power invoking quote. You aren't going to get anywhere in life if you don't put in effort. It doesn't matter how smart or fit you are, as long as you're putting in effort. Effort creates action. Action creates momentum. Momentum creates Success.
Effort is the search for success. If you don't have what you need for success, put in the effort to find it. If you fail to allow that intensity, you will not succeed.
I think the fifth is my favourite. It is really important to take care of the people around you because they might as well be the most important people in your life. You know how when you are in pain you really want someone to be around you and comfort you? Well that is what the people around you need when they are in pain or struggling. Make sure you treat others how you want to be treated.
I love them all but number 9, Expect and appreciate failures, is my total favourite. Where would we be if no one had learned from their mistakes and never had to try again. If we always thought that we were the best and going to win everything, there would be a lot of disappointment in our futures.
I think that number 6 is the best quote because if someone is scared of some things and they get stressed out, if you don't fight that stress then you will always be scared of that thing, and the stress will get worse and worse until you can't control it. So that's why you should always fight you fears and control your stress.
I personally like No1 because effort is not the most important thing of accomplishing things. You can easily get the wrong result even though you put alot of effort. Its not the effort you should focus on.
Matt, you are expressing a very fallacious tunnel view of effort. Effort is often written of by our current society as 'giving it a go'. However, effort is in fact a philosophical unit of measure for intensity. Intensity is something you can directly control, possessing the specific knowledge to complete as specific task is not. Through intensity, you will be able to obtain the required abilities, not because you found them, but because you searched.
“I’m not certain what all the answers are, but I am 100% certain I control my own actions. Live as greatly as we can, lead by example, lead with strength and lead with love.”
I can only partially agree with it. Life does take more than effort, and there is other things you can control. Nevertheless, it is still an excellent philosophical foothold.
My personal favourite is number 2: “Personal connection is everything to me. It’s my fuel, fire and energy … I stay as present as I can possibly be in every moment. Life is short, life is fast. We gotta stay grateful and present; work hard and make it all count.” If you do something with half a heart, it doesn't get done. Application and intensity are just heavily concentrated effort, and with that, efficiency occurs.
My Fav is No8. Take time to recharge
